Troubleshooting
Setup did not finish
itokens says what went wrong and offers to try again. The most common causes are a lost internet connection during the download, or too little free disk space for the model. Check both and try again; what was already downloaded is kept.
My AI does not answer
Open the task pill at the top right: it shows what itokens is doing, such as a download or a switch to another AI. If your AI stopped, the most common cause is memory: other apps are using the memory it needs. Close apps you are not using, or choose Quick in the message box for a smaller AI.
My Mac says memory is nearly full
itokens always leaves a fifth of your Mac's memory for macOS and your other apps, but other apps can still fill it. When memory is 90% full, itokens asks you to close apps you are not using. Choosing Quick also frees memory.
Answers are slow
Choose Quick in the message box for faster answers, and check that no other app is busy with the GPU. The menu bar panel shows how busy the GPU and CPU are.
A download stopped
Check your internet connection and the free space on your Mac, then try again: the download resumes where it stopped.
An update did not install
itokens refuses any download that fails its checks, and says why. Check your connection and try itokens, Check for Updates in the menu bar again, or download the release from the download page. Homebrew installs update with brew upgrade --cask itokens.
Still stuck?
itokens's log is at ~/Library/Application Support/itokens/itokens.log. The quickest way to report a problem is Report a bug in the app: it attaches the relevant log lines for you, shows you everything before it is sent, and files it on itokens-app/issues, where you can follow it. You can also open an issue there yourself, or write to [email protected].
