Uninstall

The simplest way is the factory reset: it removes everything itokens added to your Mac, then itokens itself.

Factory reset

1. Want to keep your chats? First make a backup.
2. Open Settings, then Factory reset. itokens lists everything it will remove, with sizes.
3. Choose what else goes: your Projects and KnowledgeBase folders (moved to the Trash, so you can still get them back), the shared Hugging Face cache, and the Homebrew tools itokens installs. They are all ticked; untick what you want to keep.
4. Type I UNDERSTAND THIS WILL DELETE ALL ITOKENS DATA and press Erase everything.

itokens removes its models, its tools (Python, MLX), your chats, skills, Library and settings, the Mac settings it changed, then quits and removes the app. Ollama and its models are never touched: itokens does not install them.

Only the app, with Homebrew

brew uninstall --cask --zap itokens

--zap also removes itokens's app data, preferences and web storage. It does not touch your models folder.

Only the app, by hand

1. Quit itokens (menu bar icon, Quit) and move /Applications/itokens.app to the Trash.
2. Delete ~/Library/Application Support/itokens (your chats, Library, settings, logs and the MLX environment).
3. Downloaded models stay in your models folder (~/Models by default); delete the ones you no longer want.
